This is a logo design I found that I thought was simple and nicely executed. The color change on the type from red to black give good separation and the sketch style illustration is a nice touch, playing on the sketching process of design.

Inspirational Design

This is a card illustrated by Stanley Chow.  His color palette used is very nice and colorful and different.  His minimal approach to his drawing is what makes his style really stand out.

Design Firm Study

To go along with the homework for this week here is another image from Red Labor.  I like the photo montage that they achieved here.  This is a very visually appealing piece because the more you look at it the more things you start to find.

Design Inspiration

This was created from Red Nose Studio, by Chris Sickels.  I like his work because he makes these characters out of clay and then sets them up in a hand made scene and then photographs them.  His work has been on several magazine covers and advertisements.

Inspirational Piece

This is something a little different a little blast from the past so to speak.  This is a painting done by Adam Elsheimer.  He was a highly influential painter in Italy.  He died at the age of 32 and only had a small number of works to his name.  He died in poverty and his work wasn't widely admired until after his death. 
This piece, "The Mocking of Ceres", is oil on copper shows the goddess Ceres searhing for her daughter, Proserpina.  She is shown drinking barley offered by an old woman.  I chose this piece because of the lighting that Elsheimer uses.  His study of form and light is great as you can see the multiple light sources in the piece from the candle lighting under the old woman's face and the stick burning casting light on the back side of Ceres's gown.  Elsheimer managed to capture this light really nicely and that is why I chose to share this piece.

creative design

I found this poster at creative fan.  I feel that this poster is really unique and the multiple play on the word mirror with the two heads and the word itself is really nice.  I over all composition of the poster is nice in my opinion.
